Gartner analysts select innovative, impactful and intriguing companies for the ‘Cool Vendor’ reports
MENLO PARK, Calif.—May 13, 2016— Cybersecurity and threat intelligence innovator buguroo® has been named a “Cool Vendor” in the Cool Vendors in Spain, 2016 Gartner, Inc. report.
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor, because what we are doing at buguroo really is cool,” said buguroo CEO Jesús Sánchez-Aguilera.
“Our world-class team of white-hat hacking, malware and cybercrime experts spend their time gathering intelligence in the darkest parts of the Web about the actors, who they are attacking, what has been compromised and how. Every month, our threat lab crawls 2.5 million websites and scans 5 billion lines of code, and we have detected more than 100,000 vulnerabilities for our customers,” he continued.
“At buguroo, we developed two suites of next-generation tools for threat intelligence and application security testing that solve the problems existing solutions do not. And we have entered the U.S. market and established our presence there. All this in the last three months. Very cool indeed,” said Sánchez-Aguilera.
According to the Cool Vendor report, “CIOs worldwide should realize that Spain has a substantial number of IT providers with cutting-edge innovative offerings, with strong involvement in digital business and transcending to international markets.” 1
On top of outsmarting the threat actors with its bugThreats intelligence platform, buguroo offers bugFraud Defense, a next-generation online fraud detection solution that provides real-time protection of websites, and bugScout and bugBlast, its application security testing tools, which include a modern architecture designed for the cloud that enables full modeling of today’s very large applications in memory and correlating several different types of security vulnerability scans into one view.

Although a startup in the U.S., buguroo is building on its five-year history in Europe and its proven technology and security operations experience. Originally, the company was a stand-alone unit in Deloitte Spain, and the buguroo team of ethical hackers and cybersecurity analysts worked alongside experts from Deloitte Spain to manage the Deloitte Security Operations Center (SOC) for Europe. In 2015, the 50-employee company was spun off as buguroo and closed a $3.34 million round of angel financing to expand its business internationally and accelerate development of its product roadmap.
